DKG Practice/Program

          • Collegiality: Zeta Chapter members willingly engaged in the project to support colleagues who were
actively engaged in transitioning to virtual learning environments.
          • Professional/Personal Growth: The project allowed members to advance professional and personal
knowledge in creating digital resources that could be used within classrooms and provided
opportunities for enhancing children’s literacy through read-alouds.
          • Philanthropy: The project gave members great joy in providing service to the community.
          • Global Emphasis: Zeta members were caught in the wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, and remote
learning became a stark reality for many. We empathized with teachers, students, parents, and our
local community. We sought solutions to helping each other through the new normal.
          • Leadership: As educators, Zeta members rose to the challenge of discovering new ways of doing
things—engaging in Zoom meetings and continuing our work to stay connected and strong. We
continue to support educational excellence and early-career educators.
Schools will transition back to in-person learning; our read-aloud project continues as an ongoing
program of work. As DKG Zeta Chapter members, we strive to become better persons and perpetuate
        our work as educators.
