o you have personal and professional expectations? Do you like to learn, grow,
Dand study? Are you actively engaged as a DKG member, involved in committee
participation or leadership roles, including holding an office? Have you attended confer-
ences and conventions? If so, our Society offers numerous scholarships to assist your educational goals while
fulfilling our fifth Purpose: “To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate
study and grant fellowships to non-member women educators.”
Being aware of scholarship opportunities for doctoral study and advanced degrees is prudent. As many
as 31 scholarships are awarded each year to members pursuing advanced degrees. Scholarships for those
pursuing a doctorate provide $10,000; those seeking other graduate studies are eligible for $6,000. The schol-
arship application process, requirements, and application form are all available at www.dkg.org. Completed
application packets are due on February 1, 2022. You are encouraged to apply and to encourage other members
to apply. We all celebrate and honor achievement!
What might be the impact of receiving an international scholarship from DKG? Recent recipients share these
poignant thoughts:
“As a single teacher I was pursuing a doctoral degree and struggling to pay bills and fund my studies. I
strongly encourage members pursuing a degree to apply for a scholarship. A word of advice: keep a small
notebook of all your activities within our Society, from chapter to state to regional to international. Keep
up with every position you hold on a committee or leadership role held and when you held it. This will
keep you from struggling to remember what and when you participated in DKG. Also, have another person
read and edit your application, ensuring that you have not
omitted any critical information and that your grammar is DKGIEF Envelope Campaign
