        From PRES p. 2

            will contribute to the Society by participating; sharing your interests, talents, and professional expertise;
            and seeking opportunities to grow personally and professionally. If this is your desire, please signify by
            saying, “I will support this organization.” (Chapter Induction Ceremony, p. 2).
            This is not the time to be divisive in our actions. We are entirely too vulnerable as an organization to allow
        practices that may fracture us. Now, more than ever, it is critical that, collectively, we stand together and united

        to make changes in our organization so that we are vital, relevant, and sustainable through 2029 and beyond.
               I have said many times that members matter. That’s because you do.
            Membership influences change, advances skillsets, improves lives, and creates solutions. Membership
            helps, serves, and cares for many people. Without membership, skills aren’t advanced, policies aren’t
            developed, and industries aren’t protected. Membership gives people a voice. Membership brings
            people together to collectively innovate, create, and mobilize. Membership gives people a place to
            belong and an opportunity to make a difference. There is no other segment of society that improves

            lives like membership organizations do. (Member Shift: Why members leave and the strategies proven to
            bring them back; Sarah L. Sladek, 2023)
              Decisions will be made that offer opportunities for the Society to be even more vital and relevant to educators,
        which leads to sustainability of our organization. Members matter. You matter. Now let’s get working!
