Personal Reflection/Anecdote
going on reserve as long as I am physically able to be an active member.
A quote from Orizon Marden captures my main idea: “Every experience in life, everything with
which we have come in contact with in life, is a chisel, which has been cutting away at our life statue,
molding, modifying, and shaping it. We are all a part of all we have met.” So, “THANK YOU” Alpha
Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma for all of those wonderful 65 years giving me the opportunity to be
a part of this organization and for each of you being a part of my life.
Conclusion
When Kathaleen joined the Alpha Zeta Chapter in 1957, it had been in existence for 9 years. After
her 28 years as an active teacher, she continued to support and encourage those still in the classroom.
During the pandemic project, she was not only one of the women contacting other members but she
was also the first one to send in the replies to the questions. She has been a contributor for all of her
membership years.
Some DKG members build a legacy by serving at the state organization or international level.
Kathaleen represents others whose legacy comes from building a strong foundation at the chapter level.
Both choices are worthy of recognition, appreciation, and celebration.
