            DKGIEF Goes to Convention

The DKG International Educators Foundation (DKGIEF) Board is looking forward to connecting with
members at the DKG International Convention in National Harbor in July 2024. Plans are underway to
make this an extra special convention and spotlight how DKG members help DKGIEF make an impact
            across the world.

Dueling Pianos Event: Looking for a fun night out? Well, toss in your dancing shoes and tune up your
vocal cords for an evening spent at Bobby McKey’s Dueling Piano Bar on Wednesday, July 10, from 6
to 11 pm, sponsored by DKGIEF. World-class musicians will play all your requests and favorites while
weaving in improvisational humor. Heavy appetizers, desserts, and soda/water will be included with your
ticket purchase, and the venue is just steps away from the convention center. A portion of the $150 ticket
price will be tax deductible as a contribution to DKGIEF. Tickets are limited to 300, so join your DKG
sisters as you’ll sing and laugh the night away while making incredible memories.

Convention Bags: This year, DKGIEF is proud to sponsor convention bags for all attendees! The Board
is always looking for ways to help more people learn about the Foundation. This is one way to show
the partnership between DKG and DKGIEF and thank members for their support in a meaningful way.
Members carrying the bag in schools or communities will promote the Foundation beyond our organization.

Silent Auction: Get ready to participate in a lively silent auction to raise funds for grants dedicated
to educators. Stop by the DKGIEF tables in the expo to make your selection and bid on a variety of
elegant items. Every winning bid contributes to a pool of resources destined to support the noble cause of
advancing knowledge and nurturing the educators who make it possible.

Emergency Fund Collection: The International Convention is a traditional time to collect funds for the
DKG Emergency Fund. Through donations, members help other members and demonstrate the Society’s
“genuine spiritual fellowship.” Between July and December of 2023, 18 members who sustained major
losses from floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, and other natural disasters each received
a $500 check. Options for giving to the Emergency Fund will include cash, check, or credit card payment.

DKGIEF Breakout Session: The Delta Kappa Gamma International Educators Foundation impacts the
world, but what does it do? In the DKGIEF breakout session, a round table setting will give members an
opportunity to interact with recipients of different awards and grants as they share stories of how their
            personal experiences made a difference.

Ask me about DKGIEF: Want to know more about DKGIEF but not sure who to ask? Board members
are eager to answer your questions and tell you more about the funds and awards that the Foundation
manages. Look for members wearing the Ask Me badge (shown here) to find the answers you are seeking.

DKGIEF Digital Badge: Watch the DKG Convention App for an opportunity to
answer trivia questions and earn a digital badge. Enjoy a little friendly competition
while you brush up on your knowledge about the DKGIEF.

Clearly, the Foundation board is working hard to make sure DKG members
stay connected, are informed and knowledgeable about the work of DKGIEF, and
take advantage of the opportunities it provides. See you in National Harbor!
