         Planned for 2022 Convention

earing and learning from outstanding speakers are highlights of any DKG event. One of the keynote

who was voted teacher of the year in Iceland in 2018 and received the Icelandic Educational Award in 2020 for
his outstanding contributions to education in that country.
Meet Ingvi Hrannar Ómarsson. A Stanford graduate who currently works at Iceland’s
Ministry of Education as a senior adviser on educational issues, he leads the implemen-
tation of Iceland’s national educational policy. He is also the only Apple Distinguished

Educator in Iceland and the first Icelander to be a Certified Innovator for Google for Ed-
ucation. DKG members will be enthralled with his innovative and relevant approach to
                              global education for the future.
The experience in New Orleans will also allow attendance at the ticketed Sazerac
House event following the opening session for members on July 12. General meetings,
breakout sessions, and takeaways will be offered on July 13–16. Global Connections,
Celebration of Life, Forum meetings, and the DKG International Educators Foundation event at Mardi Gras World

will be great added opportunities. The Foundation event is a fundraiser, so the ticket will include a donation. On
Saturday, July 16, the installation of the next DKG president and officers followed by a reception and dinner will
        culminate the convention activities.
In between all the activities and events of the convention will be time for SHOPPING! Visit vendors and
exhibitors in the convention Marketplace on Thursday and Friday, and enjoy a variety of local shops outside the
hotel. Find something for everyone at the French Market, Farmers Market, Outlet Collection at Riverwalk, Shops
