From the Desk of the Director

t is hard to believe that March 1, 2022, has passed. A bittersweet moment filled with
Iemotion, this is the date we closed the door to the building at 416 W. 12th Street in
Austin, Texas, for the last time. Another chapter in the history of the Society has ended,
and a new one has begun. I must admit I looked back one last time with respect, admi-
Nita R. Scott, CAE ration, and quite a bit of sadness — but I also look forward now with excitement. I can
        Executive Director
almost hear Annie Webb Blanton speaking those words to us, “Be progressive…But, don’t
cling to the old when its worth has passed.”
So, the Headquarters staff have moved to a leased office space in Austin, north of downtown. On a hybrid
schedule including some remote work as well as some days in the office, we will continue to be available to

members as always. The office space is designed specifically for collaborative teamwork, and we continue to
utilize a project management application that provides connectivity and maximizes productivity.
Although the environment, both physical and cultural, is changing a bit at Headquarters, many things remain
        the same:
           • Our phone number and all extension numbers for staff remain the same.
           • Staff are still available on business days between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm Central Time.
           • You can still reach us via phone, email, or chat.

           • The temporary address (1801 E. 51st Street, STE 365, Austin, TX 78723) will remain in use until we settle
             in the leased space.
           • The DKG website can still be accessed at www.dkg.org.
Thank you for your patience during this transition. It has been a very busy time, but you are why we are here.
You are valued and appreciated! So, please know that we value every call, every email, and every chat. If we
missed one in the move, we apologize and hope you let us know. And now, let’s all set our sights on convention.
See you in New Orleans in July!
