for information on two important topics for the Society: membership attrition and
grants-in-aid. Maine is excited about scholarships they give to aspiring educators and is
brainstorming ways to connect this support to collegiate memberships.
As a past ISF committee member, it is a special gift to have served as an ISF speaker
once again. Each time I learn new things and, I hope, share different understandings with
others.
It is my hope that the DKGIEF will continue to see the possibilities of uniting Lace Marie Brogden, Ph.D.

possibilities of the International Speakers Fund.”
Hosting an ISF speaker at an event also provides many benefits. Members learn from the speaker’s
expertise and perspective on various topics related to education, leadership, and global issues and enhance
their professional development. Members also network with others from different countries and regions as
they foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration within our organization while supporting the ISF
program and its mission of promoting international understanding and friendship among women educators.
The ISF is one of nine funds administered by the DKG International Educators Foundation (DKGIEF) and
supports the educational and philanthropic activities of the Society. Donations to the DKGIEF support the ISF and
cover the speakers’ travel expenses to face-to-face state organization events. Every donation to DKGIEF counts
and makes a difference in fostering international understanding and friendship among women educators.
To become an ISF speaker, apply online through the DKG website by September 15. State organization
presidents who wish to host an ISF speaker at an event can apply online by October 15. The ISF Committee will
match speakers with host state organizations. Speakers will be notified if selected.
Becoming an ISF speaker or hosting an ISF speaker at an event is a tremendous way to connect with women
educators worldwide, broaden members’ horizons, and contribute to the Society’s mission of advancing women
educators’ professional and personal growth. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference.
