“When we were planning the Latin American Conference (LATAM 21) in Costa Rica, the
situation with the pandemic was very hard. We decided to celebrate in a virtual mode.
We decided to hire a specialized company to make it technically and aesthetically
wonderful. For that, we needed money. We had budgeted funds from DKG and the
Costa Rica State Organization. But it was not enough. We asked for help from the
Holden Fund. The Fund accepted out request; they were very flexible. They understood
our needs and designated $1,000 to help us pay for professional support.”

Transition Meeting for incoming International Presidents. That opportunity enabled me
to learn so much about the business of serving as International President. Being the
president is so much more than presiding at meetings or organizing a convention; DKG
is big business with thousands of members and many moving parts. This transition
meeting allowed me to learn from the outgoing president and build a working
relationship with the executive director.”
