Summary
To summarize, the significant contribution of a movement to learning requires
an understanding of how learning in general and learning in school in particular take
place. In this article, we have taken first steps and combined theory and practice to
achieve this understanding. We have discussed two basic processes through which
mindful movement can be used as a contributor to learning and two suggestions of
how to start implementing mindful movement meaningfully. Implementing these
learning processes requires teachers to change the way they look at learning and the
teaching methods they choose for their students. A broadened understanding of the
processes that take place during mindful movement will lead to more practical tools
for implementation.
