The Canadian Forum Conference:
Unite, Uplift, Inspire!
By Angela Voutier and Shar McGowan
Canada’s heart will truly be beating in July with the collective energy and vitality of those who will gather
for an inspiring conference for women educators at the Victoria Inn and Conference Centre in Brandon,
Manitoba from July 10–13, 2025. Most of the presenters at the conference will be members of DKG, with
keynotes from noted leaders in Canadian education, members who are currently on or have served as
International Speakers for DKG, and other women educators.
The conference is organized around its theme: Unite, Uplift, Inspire! Starting on Thursday, July
10, with the theme of Unite, the tentative plan will offer an opening keynote on the topic Canadians
Who Innovate: The Trailblazers and Ideas That Are Changing the World. On Friday, through the second
and third keynotes, respectively, attendees will then explore the subjects Indigenous Epistemologies in
Teaching and Learning and The Power of Yes—both designed to Uplift. On Saturday, under the umbrella
of Inspire, a keynote titled Empowering or Undermining? Understanding the Role of Generative Artificial
Intelligence in Today’s Teaching and Learning Context will be presented, to be followed by a final keynote,
Light and Joy: Igniting Our Strength and Purpose.
But that’s not all! The Canadian Forum Conference will also feature a wonderful array of captivating
breakout topics presented by several DKG members. One specific highlight that attendees may look forward
to is an excursion to nearby Winnipeg
to experience the Canadian Museum
for Human Rights (https://humanrights.
ca/) on Sunday, July 13. In the keynotes,
breakout sessions, and this special event,
the conference will delve into important
educational issues and provide catalysts
for furthering educational pursuits and
career development. Workshops and panel
discussions will offer practical skills and
knowledge, while the keynote speakers
will uplift and inspire attendees to take
educational pursuits to new heights while
mentoring and inspiring others. As they
gain insights from educational leaders
and peers, members will appreciate the
conference’s clear focus on professional
development, networking, and personal
growth—all offered in a unique space
for sharing ideas and experiences. The
conference’s unique blend of inspiration,
interaction, and learning will cater to a
diverse range of interests and career
stages—and also provide opportunities to
learn more about DKG International and
the value and benefits of membership.
