Patricia H. Sometimes amazing, unexpected things happen. On May 13, 2022, only
Brenner is a
member of Alpha 19 days after submission, I received an email from the NWHM’s Director
Beta Chapter in of Membership and Events. Dr. Annie Webb Blanton is now included on the
Pennsylvania State NWHM’s Chronicles of American Women website. I could hardly contain my
Organization. excitement. Not only had Dr. Blanton been accepted into the Museum, but her

gmail.com Passion and hard work definitely have the potential to reap positive benefits.
None of this would have been possible without the help, encouragement, and
support of my fellow Delta Kappa Gamma members. Was the journey to have Dr.
Blanton recognized by the NWHM difficult? Certainly! It was time consuming,
challenging, and often frustrating with computer glitches … but also exhilarating.
Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! Dr. Annie Webb Blanton deserves any effort it
took to have her accepted by the NWHM’s Chronicles of American Women.
This journey has taught me a valuable lesson: If we follow our passion, quiet
the negative voices in our head, and seek the assistance of our DKG colleagues,
great things will happen. Dr. Annie Webb Blanton would be both amazed and
humbled to learn that she has left an enduring legacy of action that is continued by
women following in her footsteps.
