DKG Practice/Program
Conclusion
Feedback from the exit tickets has been positive. Attendees have enjoyed the opportunity for
collegiality and noticed the enthusiasm of everyone involved. One comment prior to COVID-19 was
“I like the format. Enough to make it worth the drive but not too long for a weekend. Really nice to
have a learning opportunity outside our district.” Responses have also provided suggestions for future
workshops.
Still trying to recover from COVID-19, the Maine SO needs to determine how best to offer this
opportunity and meet the needs of educators in the state. Do we offer a full-day, in-person experience
with a keynote that is also offered virtually? Should we have virtual sessions in consecutive weeks
following the main event? How do the answers change the registration fees? Or do we keep the original
in-person structure?
While grappling with these questions, Maine SO has found this to be a worthwhile project. It is
important to offer good professional development on a variety of topics at all levels and at a reasonable
registration fee to the educational community in the state. Not only does S-T-R-E-T-C-H bring educators
together as a collegial group to learn from experts and each other, but it also promotes Maine SO and
DKG International as professional organizations of women educators.
