within the four chapters and to develop camaraderie and mentorship within

When we began recruiting participants in the initial stages, many members
were concerned about how the directory would be used and who would have access
to it outside the state organization. Some members only agreed to participate once
they were assured that it would only be used within DCSO. Even though we tried
to reassure members that participating in the directory did not mean they had to
conduct workshops or presentations, some members still felt they would participate
later—once they saw the published first edition. On the other hand, members who
eagerly agreed to participate looked forward to the opportunity to showcase their
love of teaching, sharing, and motivating others. Many if not all of these members
were also intrigued about learning more about the contributions of other members
and what they could learn from them.
Underway!
Approximately 29 DSCO members participated in our first DCSO Speaker’s
Directory, with representation from all four chapters. Once the directory was
published, the executive board, chapter presidents, contributing members, and
members of the DCSO expressed warm accolades. Many members used the
