celebrating our vision. Each time we see possibilities and work to make them
happen we celebrate our vision. Each time we help grow and develop leaders we
        celebrate our vision.
We celebrate our vision each time we take advantage of the many opportunities
along our DKG journey … or when we embrace the possibilities that keep us
moving forward … or when we tenaciously tackle challenges and think outside the
box to overcome them … or when we ask “What would Annie do?”
Dr. Blanton said, “There is tremendous power in working together to
accomplish a goal and realize a dream!” We all need to look at ways we can
creatively continue to lead women educators so we impact education worldwide,
keeping Dr. Blanton’s dream of a society of key women educators alive and the
DKG we love so much relevant, vital, and vibrant.

Connections and Collaboration in DKG: Heather Dunn, Arkansas
        State Organization
I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach in the same small town I grew
up in. That town has a population of about 4,000 people. I actually don’t live there
anymore. I live in the next town over that has a whopping population of 305.
Through marriage, I am now related to most of that town. So feel free to insert all
the stereotypes you have about small
        towns here.
            However, through DKG, I have
had the opportunity to meet teachers in
many different towns in my state, other
states, and other countries. There is not
        another professional organization that
        gives members that opportunity.
One of the trend words in social
media right now is “teacher best friend”
or “bestie.” I am so blessed to have
several DKG “besties.” I have my
local chapter bestie, my state bestie,
        a California bestie, a Texas bestie, a
Mississippi bestie, and now a Canadian
        Bestie.
I hope you have a “Bestie” in DKG. I hope you travel to meetings and Heather Dunn makes
conventions with them. I hope you bounce ideas off them, and I hope they support connections at the
and encourage you to grow into the best teacher and DKG member you can be. 2022 International

        In Conclusion…
The 2021 DKGNext Team asks: What connections have you made as a
result of DKG? Have you taken advantage of the many possibilities that the
Society offers? What are you doing to lead women educators so that education
is impacted worldwide? In what ways has DKG made an impact on you? Have
you contributed your time and talents in the chapter or at the state organization or
international levels? Have you taken advantage of the many opportunities offered
        for professional and personal growth?
