make new ones. I realize the registration fee may seem daunting—but

please remember, it includes everything you would have had to purchase
a la carte and, quite frankly, the cost is less than what most members paid
for convention under the former price structure. We have a phenomenal
room rate of less than $200, which includes the resort fee. Compare this
to the current “rack” rate for these rooms, which is around $450 per night!
It is, however, important that you register early to avoid the increase in
fees mandated by the Constitution—one more example, to be completely
honest, of an item that should be in GAPP and not the governing documents.
Until those items that should be policies and procedures are removed

from the Constitution, our hands are tied regarding ways we could assist
with more effective planning and better pricing structures when the need
arises. The Board will propose a revision of the governing documents with the help of legal counsel to create
a simpler and more efficient set of bylaws. With my experience and training in non-profit leadership, I highly
recommend you support this initiative. Can you imagine a convention where you hear about the work of your
international leaders without the multitude of amendments every year? We might even have the time to enjoy
dinner on the town together!

So, I encourage you to join us for this important convention. And, if you have never attended an international
convention before, you are in for a real treat! You will see what this organization is really all about, and I am
confident you will appreciate the impact our members have on education, our communities, educators, women,
and children around the world. If I don’t see you along the way, I certainly hope I see you in July!
