application (deadline state, and international leaders to our international committee
extended) members, you have all worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep
DKG thriving. I am truly inspired by the passion and purpose with
November 15 which you lead, and I am eager to see the remarkable ideas and

submissions However, I would be remiss not to mention the challenges
we have faced. Earlier this fall, many of our members and their
communities were deeply impacted by hurricanes and storms. On
HQ CLOSED our October Zoom call, I was moved by the outpouring of support
from members asking, “What can we do to help?” This spirit of
November 25–29 compassion and action is what makes DKG so special, and I
Thanksgiving Holiday (USA) want to share just a few ways we can contribute to disaster relief
December 20–January 6 efforts.
Winter Holiday How To Help:
1. Donate Monetary Support
While the DKGIEF Emergency Fund is always available to help
our members in need, there are many additional organizations
working tirelessly in disaster recovery efforts. The American Red
Cross [Redcross.org] and the US Government official website for
Disaster Assistance [DisasterAssistance.gov] are excellent places
to start. For those in areas impacted by natural disasters, please
know that you can apply for assistance through these channels as
well. To learn more about the DKGIEF Emergency Fund visit www.
dkg.org/DKGSI/DKGIEF/Funds/Emergency_Fund
2. Donate Your Time
Rebuilding after a natural disaster takes time and effort.
Organizations such as Habitat for Humanity’s Disaster Response
Program [Habitat.org/our-work/disaster-response] are always
looking for volunteers to help with the rebuilding process. Your
time and skills can make a significant difference in helping
communities recover. See DIR p. 5
