own work. One can learn about other cultures and ways of doing things, see new learning environments and
develop professionally. It has opened my thinking out of the box.”
The International Speakers application is available for DKG members on the Apply/Submit page. Applications
are due on or before September 1.
Scholarship Fund – Members enrolled or returning to school for an advanced degree may also find financial
opportunities within DKGIEF. The Scholarship Fund provides awards for outstanding DKG
women pursuing a doctoral degree ($10,000) or other graduate studies ($6,000). As many
as 31 scholarships are awarded to DKG members annually.
Lisa Morris (Beta, Delaware) shared the benefits of her DKG scholarship, “As an African
American female educator and leader living in Delaware, this scholarship will provide me
with the opportunity to expand my influence in education—not only by pursuing my goal
of becoming a college professor but also by continuing to serve as a role model for future
educators. This support empowers me to uplift and inspire others, especially women and underrepresented
individuals who may be considering a career in education.”
Specific requirements and the scholarship application are posted on the DKG Apply/Submit page. The deadline
for scholarship applications is February 1.
World Fellowship Fund - DKGIEF also supports the education of women from other countries who are
interested in studying in the United States or Canada. The World Fellowship Fund provides
grants for women who are not DKG members to attend universities in the US or Canada.
This fund supplements the stipend received from the Fulbright program in the US.
Tiara Adzakiyah (Indonesia) is pursuing a master’s in Health Professions Education
at the University of Rochester, New York. She shared how the World Fellowship award
had been beneficial, “The DKG Fellowship has been a life-changing support in my ac-
ademic journey abroad in the U.S. It’s more than just funding—it’s a belief in my potential and a support
system that I am not alone in this journey. I am forever grateful for the generosity and encouragement that
have empowered my educational and professional growth.”
Details for applications to study in the US or Canada are available on the World Fellowship Fund webpage of the
DKG website.
