Opportunity to Make a Difference
The Opportunity
What could be more satisfying than applying your skills to the Delta Kappa Gamma International
Educators Foundation (DKGIEF) mission to educate the world? You can do just that by applying to join
the DKGIEF board of directors. The future growth of DKGIEF depends on the skill sets and foundation
experience of elected DKGIEF directors and their level of passion for the mission of the foundation.
Serving as a DKGIEF director is an opportunity to help the foundation expand its outreach in
service of its mission to educate the world. If you are passionate about our mission and believe you have
the skill set to contribute to the work of the foundation, we urge you to consider applying to join the
DKGIEF board of directors.

• What is the main responsibility of the DKGIEF Board of Directors?
The DKGIEF board of directors are stewards of the following funds for the purposes of
fundraising, investment and donor management, and distribution of funds: Scholarship,
World Fellowship, International Speakers, Emergency, Eunah Temple Holden, Golden
Gift, Educational Projects, and Cornetet. In addition, the board determines recipients of the
Educational Projects and Cornetet Awards.
• What type of board is DKGIEF?
DKGIEF is a nonprofit, working board,
which means it must perform its fiduciary and
strategic duties (the big picture) as well as fulfill
management and technical functions (boots on
the ground). This translates to a time and energy
commitment for each director.
• When does the board meet?
The board of directors, at the present time,
meets twice a year in Austin, Texas, and the
morning after the conclusion of the DKG
International Convention in even-numbered
years. In between meetings, the work of the
board is done through its committees by virtual
meetings such as via Zoom and email.
