Encourage existing members to find educators throughout the community—not
only in their school district but also at church or in other community organizations.
These can include current members who moved to the area but are far away from
their chapter. Be sure to market DKG on social media. The best way to find new
members is through direct contact with enthusiastic members.

Step 5: Organize and Hold an Event.
Organize an event to familiarize prospective members with DKG. The
PowerPoint Pride in the Big Picture, located on the DKG international website, is
used to familiarize potential members with DKG. After logging in to the website at
www.dkg.org, go to Resources > Membership > New Members > Orientation and
Reorientation PowerPoints. Local chapters provide refreshments, and the chartering
committee organizes the program and handouts.

        Step 6: Collect
        Applications.

            Distribute and collect
        applications at the event. If
        potential members do not fill
out an application at the event,
        they should be contacted within
a few weeks by a member—
        preferably someone they know.
        Contact potential members
        who have already filled out
        applications to see if they
        have friends or colleagues
who would like to join DKG.
        Additional orientations can
be held over Zoom, via phone Expansion Chair Daphne Cagle and California State Organization
calls, or using FaceTime. President (2019-2021) Sue Noyes lead the chartering of Kappa Epsilon
