training for the Society under one committee, thus saving the Society financially while
utilizing the resources and expertise of the committee members wisely and more prudently.
Important Note: The actual fiscal Golden Gift Fund, now housed with DKGIEF, will

WORK, AND THE WILL TO LEAD

           And Speaking of Leadership:
           Training State Organization Leaders

In summer 2021, a separate, focused training for new state organization leaders was
piloted. The leaders met in Atlanta, Georgia, for 2 days of team training; those who
could not attend physically were able to attend and participate virtually. Evaluations and
feedback from the participants indicated it was a very positive and effective training,
and they generally liked that it was separate from a conference. PAs about training state
organization leaders seek to allow the Society the flexibility to offer separate training
for state organization leaders in the future, while NOT limiting the options for training.
           And Speaking of Leadership:

           Nominating, Voting for Leaders

             Nominating

Leaders have guided the Society through almost 100 years—with leadership
styles varying, certainly, but with all styles moving DKG forward. Some PAs
address the important processes for selecting leaders for the future. The simplest
of these PAs involve moving guidelines to GAAP; approval of requested guideline
changes is the responsibility of the administrative board and should not require
constitutional change. Another proposal seeks to clarify the process of implementing
an early decision to nominate from the floor. An individual whose name was
submitted to the International Nominations Committee but who was not selected
may put her name in for the position she had originally sought and may submit
materials about her candidacy for publication in the DKG NEWS and on the DKG
